Course Etiquette
No foul language. Groups must keep pace with golfers who may be playing ahead of tournament. 18 holes should be played in a maximum of 4 1/2 hours. Golfers
will be asked by the Course Marshall to skip holes if slow play is evident. Keep the pace consistent and do not spend time searching for lost balls.
Dress Code
Shoes: Golf shoes or running shoes with flat heels. Soft spikes are mandatory. Dress: Proper golf attire - shirts MUST be worn at all times.
General
- Remember that slow play will take away from the enjoyment of your day. You should be able to complete the 18 holes in less than five hours. The tournament
can only move as fast as your slowest foursome. It's up to the captains to ensure that their group keeps up to the one ahead. If you see an empty fairway
ahead of you, pick up the pace!
- Please repair all divots and ball marks on the greens.
- Don't spend more than three minutes searching for a lost ball.
- Alcohol other than that provided by River Oaks Golf Course is NOT allowed on the course, according to government regulations. Beverages, however, will be
available from our licensed bar and roving beer cart.
- Tournament Organizer is to pay for all tournament fees the day of the event.
- Organizer must submit a team time list to the front desk prior to play. This should include information regarding carts and meals.
- Power cart rentals are available upon request. Visa or MasterCard is required for each power cart rental as a security deposit against cart or course damages.
Abuse of cart or course will result in power cart being confiscated with NO refund. Charges for repair of cart or course will also result.
- Coupons, vouchers and other promotional offers are not valid with tournament bookings.
- Alcoholic beverages other than those provided by River Oaks are not allowed on the golf course. River Oaks provides a roving beverage cart for the course.
- Beverage sponsored holes are NOT permitted.

River Oaks wants to ensure your tournament runs as smoothly as possible. We will be pleased to help by assisting with any other tournament needs you may have, in order to

- Arrange golfers in groups of four with tee–off times seven minutes apart. Tell all players to be at the course at least 20 minutes before their scheduled tee-off time.

to your event and your group will be invoiced based on these numbers.
- Shotgun starts are available only to groups of 120, and the full green fee must be paid for all. Shotgun starts are not available on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

River Oaks is not responsible for running contests. All contests are run by the Tournament Organizer.
Longest Drive
First team carries a marker to the furthest drive that lands on the fairway, and writes the name of the individual on it. Each subsequent group that has a longer drive moves
the marker forward and adds their teammate's name. The last group brings in the marker.
At River Oaks, we suggest holes #3, 5, 10, or 16 for this contest.
Closest to the Pin
First team puts the marker where the drive nearest the hole lands. The ball must be on the green to count.
We suggest holes #4, 7, 12, or 15 for this contest.
Even or Odd Holes
Lowest total of even or odd holes per team.
Hidden Hole
At the end of the game, pick a hole number out of a hat. Whoever has the lowest score for that hole, wins a prize.
Putting Contest
This can be done while groups are waiting to tee off, or when the earliest groups have finished and are waiting for the others to come in. On the putting green, you can place three
lines of varying distances from the hole with a small rope or twine. Each individual has two putts from the same spot to see who comes closest. Many groups choose not to use twine,
and just eyeball the distance, placing a ball marker at the closest putt.
Texas Scramble
- Arrange your foursomes ahead of time and assign a captain to each to keep score.
- If a large group, assign your foursomes a tee time, allowing seven minutes between groups.
- The men hit form the WHITE TEES on each hole, and the ladies from the RED, unless otherwise specified on this sheet.
- Choose the best drive location, then everyone on the team moves to this position to hit their second shot. Continue this way until the hole is complete.
- Each player must hit a minimum of four tee shots. On the scorecard, put an X beside the name when you use that person's drive.
- The first player of the foursome to putt their ball into the cup finishes that hole for the team. The other players then pick up their balls and proceed to the next hole.
- One score will be used by each foursome team per hole completed. USE THE "MATCHES BEST BALL" LINE FOR YOUR TEAM SCORING.
