ORGANIZER TOURNAMENT INFORMATION

CONTESTS

River Oaks is not responsible for running contests. All contests are run by the Tournament Organizer.

Longest Drive

First team carries a marker to the furthest drive that lands on the fairway, and writes the name of the individual on it. Each subsequent group that has a longer drive moves the marker forward and adds their teammate's name. The last group brings in the marker.

At River Oaks, we suggest holes #3, 5, 10, or 16 for this contest.

Closest to the Pin

First team puts the marker where the drive nearest the hole lands. The ball must be on the green to count.

We suggest holes #4, 7, 12, or 15 for this contest.

Even or Odd Holes

Lowest total of even or odd holes per team.

Hidden Hole

At the end of the game, pick a hole number out of a hat. Whoever has the lowest score for that hole, wins a prize.

Putting Contest

This can be done while groups are waiting to tee off, or when the earliest groups have finished and are waiting for the others to come in. On the putting green, you can place three lines of varying distances from the hole with a small rope or twine. Each individual has two putts from the same spot to see who comes closest. Many groups choose not to use twine, and just eyeball the distance, placing a ball marker at the closest putt.
